Obit provided by Doris Deloris Smith Crawford (http://users.moscow.com/dnorman/JW_Smith_Obit.htm) Funeral services are set tomorrow for Johnnie Willis Smith, 57,who died Saturday night in the Fort Stanton Hospital. Although he had been in ill health for about eight years, Mr. Smith was admitted to the hospital only Saturday morning. An oilfield worker, Mr. Smith had lived in Hobbs for 12 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna Smith of 508 East Snyder; three daughters, Mrs. Benny McCann, Mrs. Jackie Peacock and Miss Glenda Smith, all of Hobbs; three sons, Bacel and Johnnie Smith, both of Hobbs, and Leroy Smith of Roseville, Calif.; three brothers, J. J. Smith of Brownfield, Tex., Doss Smith of Abilene, Tex., and Coy Smith of Midland, Tex.; and two sisters, Mrs. Jean Previna of Hobbs and Mrs. Beulah Wilkerson of Abilene. Services will be at 3 p.m. in the Griffin Funeral Home chapel with George Pledger, pastor of the Jefferson Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Beezley welcomed the new baby daughter who arrived on Wednesday to bless their home. **************** Martha L. Beezley Martha L. Beezley, 81, Sarasota, died Jan. 28, 1993. She was born March 29, 1911, in Forrest City, Ark., and came to Sarasota 53 years ago from Nashville, Tenn. She was a licensed practical nurse who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Sarasota. Survisors include a sister, Peggy B. Birdsong of Sarasota; and two nieces. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge. H e married MARY W. PLUM August 18, 1822 in Clark County, Ohio. Notes for PAUL BEEZLEY: Paul died at age 51 years, 4 months & 14 days This Indenture. Witnesseth, that Paul Beezley and Mary Beezley his wife o f the County of Noble and State of Indiana, inconsideration of one hund red and twenty dollars to them in hand paid by Abrham Beaublossom of th e County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged d o hereby bargain, sell and convey to the said Abraham Beaublossom, his h eirs and assignees forever the following real estate in Noble County an d State of Indiana and described as follows. 276 6-10-1910 - BEEZLEY - DOLPH - A. - - - - - BEEZLEY-MOORE=Last Saturday afternoon, Mr.Dolph A. Beezley, of St.Louis, and lineman between Little Rock and Memphis for the AT&T Company, and Miss Pauline S.Moore, a native of Kentucky, and niece of Mr.J.E.Strain of this city, were married in Memphis. She had been an operator at the local exchange. - ******************* Mrs. Pauline M. Beezley Mrs. Pauline Moore Beezley, 71, died Tuesday in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She had lived here since 1946 residing at 2061 Arlington. Mrs. Beezley was a former resident of Tampa. She was a member of of Mobile Home Park Church of Christ, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and was active int he Sarasota Chapter of the American Red Cross. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Peggy B. Birdsong and Miss Martha L. Beezley, both of Sarasota; a son, Dolph A Beezley Jr, Sarasota; her mother Mrs. Lela S. Brinkley, Orlando; two sisters, Mrs. Marie B. Johnson, Orlando, and Mrs. Mildred North of Atascadero, Calif.; one brother Raymond O. Brinkley, Orlando, Fla., and two grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Toale Brothers Downtown Chapter, 40 N. Orange Ave., with Edward Grantham officiating. Internment will be at Manasota Memorial Park.
