• Notes

  Medical: Caucasian My father, Albert M. Beasley, and his brother, Athal, told me that John Allen, Jr. insisted the last name be spelled with a "z" instead of "s". My grandfather, John Allen III spelled it with a "s" as long as I know. Cousin Nell Beasley (Farris) Box told me she was asked her first day of school if she could write her name. She said she could except for the "z". She was instructed by my father, her teacher, to use "s". This was in the late 1920s.
